Finally a... Helios!

I am a bit ashamed that i have been doing for more than 6 months and only now i am able to fly a covops ship (and a stealth bomber) and i trained for it just because my corp leader said that is mandatory to be able to fly a stealth bomber as soon as posible so i put skills to train and went to do FW.

As i was AFK for like 4 days, when i came back to check skill queues i discovered that i have only 2 weeks and 2 days (lol) left on main character so even if i will be able to gather like 1mil LP on FW character i will probably won't be able to buy/sell soon enough to PLEX main (i have more than a month on Pierre and i wait for t2 things to be trained).

This means that i need to explore a bit (a bit more) so i fit up a Helios and headed to Providence to look for some sites but as it was before down time (and lack of time) i did only one relic site (around 16mil in loot). My goal (hope i can actually don't be too lazy to finish it) is to make 1-2bil in 16 days by explorating more or less than 2 hours per day. Will see if i manage to fill up the goal.

Gambling in Jita

Most of community says that local in Jita is awful, worthless etc. I had the same opinion until last Wednesday when i had to do some market things in Jita.

A guy tried a contract scam (over priced item) and i said that the scam was really weak then a bunch of other guys (we dominated the chat for like half an hour) begun to speak about how weak are some scams and then a guys showed up with a game: he was selling (in contracts) items far more cheap than on market.

First was a bunch of Slicers a 1mil, it was true, there were 1mil and almost bought all except the one that was 1bil, whatever. Next he tried with cheap Confessors and overpriced Coercers, here i could get 1 Confessor but i also got an over priced Coercer.

Then the game stopped, i quick sold the items (made like 10mil profit) and log out. Overall it was a funny experience and if can do it again i would do it.

InfoBlog No.4

I am back and ready to play/write like a slave on a cotton plantation (ignore racist joke please). So, 3 days i was off, in this time a lot happened: i saw like 1/4 of my country (from train but still), i (and my team) probably managed to be in top 10 (from 41 teams), i made friends but probably i won't see them again (i am sad) and i came back to a fucked PC (some dubious application were installed and i couldn't get more than ~10 fps in anything so i had to clean the PC first...).

At all it was OK, but the part with friends made me sad and i can't get out of this, hope that after a bit of sleep i will be better. I have somethings to write, it will be surprise, stay tuned and see you in game!

InfoBlog No.3

The third InfoBlog is here and bring both good and bad news, let's start with the good ones: we hit more than 500 blog views, you guys are awesome, thanks, a lot! I hope that i could get some devoted reader and if i did it, my goal is hit.

Bad news are that i must be away from EVE and blog, as i am traveling for 5 days and i doubt that where i go i will have a PC with internet connection, after i return, i plan to write a few guides about different things in EVE. See you then, fly safe !

To TierV and beyond!

Militia often do fleets of all kind, mostly for capturing plexes or for bashing iHubs (we almost hit t5 and our LP income is greatly increased by this). For me, first type of fleets is more interesting as we actually may have a bit of PvP and i have a chance. This type of fleet we did this morning and it went very well for me as i got my first two kills ever in EVE, here are they:

Of course i couldn't take the Garmur just by myself but the Inquisitor could be an easy target at it wasn't even fitted. Speaking of FW, i think i will haul (or get someone to haul) the stuff i buy from LP store to Jita so as it will sell a lot faster (even if i make a little profit)

PS: So far i made more than 150mil from FW with a 1 and 1/2 weeks old character, i love FW!

When you help somebody...

I am new to EVE compared to guys that play from the beggining so i ask a lot of questions, what i should fit here?, should i go there? etc but also i am a bit more experienced than newbros and i have a lot of fun teaching them.

Yesterday, a guy that joined AirHogs a day ago (ISKHogs - FW part of AirHogs) and that didn't knew what FW involve (he was poded in hisec with most of his items), wanted to quit the corp. I asked him why and he said that those things (PvP) are far more late in game than he is (he has like 1.5mil sp).

We then begun a conversation about how to get money and have fun doing FW, a conversation that lasted almost 3 hours! But it was my best time in EVE so far, i brought him to Rens, explained how to fit a ship for PvP (an Incursus for the moment), how to choose what system to do plexes as a noob and at the end of conversation i gave him like 30mil for future fits and he was very thankful.

The feeling that you helped somebody is just awesome and i say that all veterans should help the noobs if they have time to do it properly.

Do you barge, bro?

Some guys like to break the meta and to be creative about PvP, one of those guys is Leo07 that came with a Procurer (yes, a Procurer) fit which pretty much fucked anything that you will encounter in a FW battle. Below are some of his best preys (and two loses, but the fit pays of in my opinion), really impresive!

In the end here is Leo's message for newbros in PVP: "anything is possible when you believe in yourself". Thanks Leo!

Scan Pierre, scan!

In EVE, especially when you explore, fw or in almost any thing that requires to undock and go to a less safe place. I did a hell lot of exploration and now i am dancing with fw so d-scan is mandatory in both of them. Usually, i don't d-scan if i am alone in the system (or with friends) but i am starting to scan even if i am solo in the system, the paranoia is strong when you know you can't hit back most of the times. Even if i am starting to be paranoid, d-scan is a really good method to see what's coming to you and if you can/want to fight it.

Bashing the Hubs

In FW to get a higher tier (and more LP then) you need to bash the infrastructure hub (IHub) of a system that has been 100% contested. The mission seems easy as the IHub doesn't shoot back, but when the IHub has a shit ton of hit points, you are in a time race, with many war targets in system the mission is a bit harder.

So far i was in just 2 IHub bashing fleets, one of them was succesful as we destroyed the IHub, and the other was less succesful because we had less than 30 minutes to destroy the structure (downtime was close) and we didn't had too much damage so we gave up and planned to do it after the downtime but i couldn't be there again, i will ask in millitia channel if we got it or no.

It's very interesting to be in one of these fleets (or any fleets at all), as you feel you are part of something and you can make a difference, but my Rifter is pretty low in damage for an IHub bashing fleet, so i guess i will train for a destroyer (Thrasher, Catalyst or Cormorant probably).

My FW alt is doing pretty good with the navy cap boosters and with 1 type of implants but the rest of items have pretty though competition, i want to spread my selling list so i am not bounded in only 5-10 items.

The difference between EVE's community and others

Any game has a community around it. For those games that focus on multiplayer the community is an important part of the game (more important than for singleplayer game). Most of the games (focused on multiplayer) out there are pretty easy to handle even by kids (i don't have problems with kids) and this can lead to less... fun in game.

Let's take some examples: League of Legends, Call of Duty, Counter Strike: Global Offensive, DoTA and many more are quite easy to be handled by kids and kids don't have the best patience so if the game isn't going how they want (this rule applies to some adults too) they start to rage or to quit the game, in generally spoiling your game.

The complexity of EVE is a good thing in this thing as by that the community is  "filtered" by most of ragers and other game-spoiling dudes (the subscription method also filter the community as most of the kids aim for free games).

Until now i meet only nice people in EVE (ignoring trolls, but still no rager or idiot players) with which i could laugh and get over real life problems (a girl from a chat was suffering from depression and the guys in chat were really cool and nice with her and supported her - this happened in November 2014).

In final i want to say that i haven't met a community like EVE's one (maybe TF2's community) and i am proud that i can be a part of it.

Damn white paper

I promised an update about my trading project but i was to lazy to write it at the time so here it is: Below are my items that i try to sell, the results of last few days (not bad but it could be much better if the items would traffic faster) and a very interesting item (that Pyth X-Type shield) which i could make a lot of money, but the competition is pretty thought. In this rate i expect to make 1-2 billions until my PLEX expires. So far i aim for medium to low volume items that can bring a bigger profit even if i need to wait a bit for it.

On my FW alt,  i still research for good items to buy with LP as i aim for +1500 ISK/LP rate, so far i have like 70-75 millions in some items but with 120 000 LP left i need to buy more so i expect somewhere between 150-300 millions if i use all of LP.

Horrible days

Three horrible days in which i lost more than 100 millions. All started 3 days ago, when i did a fleet with a friend with the purpose to plex higher stuff. I had a Firetail that worth like +20mil (i miss fitted some modules so i was keep losing ISK because that) while i tried to help my fleet friend but Succubus + Hawk hit hard. Then i tried some Slasher/Breacher fits but they were horrible or i didn't know/had the skills to use them properly. The Condor fit was preety good as a tackle one but my damage was just too low to destroy even the NPC, i was bored and i just went yolo on somebody. The next fit, a Rifter was pretty good actually as i managed to almost destroy a Slasher with t2 fit, but he was faster than me and escaped, just to return later and destroy me because i was at half shields and alt+tabbed. Further fits were either destroyed in gate camps or by my retardism (when i was podded i lost a 50mil clone). Here are the killmails, don't hate too much.

PS: I am in a Firetail again, and just as an information, my first offensive plex have been done in a Firetail, i start to love this ship.

Factional Warfare: actually profitable?

Never though that FW can be so profitable, and more important, never thought that a 150k skill point character can do it profitable. Well it is. You can go to do FW as soon as you start the game (i recommend to do the career agents as they give you basic skills and some ships) and still make a lot of ISK. In 3 hours i managed to get 82k LP so +/- 82mil (if 1 LP = 1000 ISK) and lost like 10mil in ships before i was able to fit properly a ship and don't die like a sheep. For a 2 days old character this means a lot as it can be done almost safely. Also you can go in many fleets with your alliance and learn how to PvP properly, and also the training for t2 fit (frigate) is probably less than a month.

As Markee showed in many streams, you can make more than 1.5bil a week by FW, just need to buy the good items from LP store (search on his channel for this kind of tutorial).

If you want to play EVE, make an account on this link, subscribe for a month or more and if i get a PLEX i will give you half of it's price in that day (more or less than 400mil) or if i get 30 days of game time, i will give you 40 millions (enough to start doing FW and earn a lot more).

LE: I got killed by a Hawk and a Succubus, at least my pod escaped...

Trading Project: First Days

That speaking about trading in earlier posts made me to start again as well. As i don't have too much time for EVE, and i already started a FW alt, my main is going to be the trader (station trader). Went to Dodixie, researched the market of some faction modules, put buy orders for the most wanted items (and those i could afford) and waited.

Now i have: 151 millions in buy orders, 60 millions in sell orders (i don't count the other orders that were up before this project) and somewhere between 50 and 100 millions in assets (again, just from this project).

My goal is to get at least 5bil until i have to PLEX, checking the orders once or two times a day, i think it's possible. Also, this series will be updated about once per week or more if somewhat interesting happens.

Fighting for freedom!

I watch MarkeeDragon pretty much every time i have time. He is a nice guy, he has some good tips, and he brought me to FW, well his videos, that proved me that PVP is a funny thing and can bring hell a lot of money. So i decided to start an alt with my buddy invite link, send him some money for a PLEX and a bit more for some ships and skills.

Minmatar this time

In both real life and video games i prefer to be the "good guy", and as i was a proud Gallente member with both my main and other alt, i decided that i should be Minmatar this time. I liked the idea that Gallente were "freedom guys", I wasn't too much into Caldary (i enjoy missiles thought), and i hate Ammar for practising slaves trades so Minmantar seemed to be the right chose.

My FW alt is named "Pierre Vailant" (reference to Lupan Anton, some might know), i made him thinking about a young hope that can bring freedom for Minmantar forever. Let's get into game.

Rens and Thrashers

I choosed Rens as main base because it was the nearest trading hub (didn't check Hek) and there i could buy/sell things faster.

On my first attempt to defensive plex, in Amanake, 2 Thrashers were camping the gate and could instalock me, 2 shoots and i was dust. Next try, i bought another Rifter, planned to avoid Amanake, i didn't and almost died but i was able to warp this time. Once in a good Minmatar system, i warped at a large plex, and waited, checking the dscan as the system wasn't so quiet.

I had a bad headache so i couldn't stay too long and didn't focused too much either. In this time, a guy in a Prowler (i though Prowler = good pvp ship, it was a fucking industrial) was baiting me, so i had to warp on and off the plex so many times that i chose to log off.

Later on i managed to do a plex (i got 5775 LP for 10mins of work), and i could do more if a guy could stop to hunt my 3mil Rifter in an Astero. I tricked him a bit, but i was talking to an AirHogs recruiter, i forgot to dock and the guy in Astero got me near a planet.

So far i plan to train my skills more, so i can offensive plex to earn more money (and to win fights). More will come!

Big quest for nothing V5.5

This will be just a small update on my adventures, a bigger post will come soon.

When laziness hits

I don't go to explore. Past 5-6 days i just rat with alliance and mine, i did just a single exploration trip, yesterday, in which i found just one relic and a lots of worthless datas, the relic brought me about 80mil so i can almost sure PLEX, i need just to haul the cargo in hisec. A second exploration trip i plan to do today, after downtime, i will see, but if i manage to do it, probably i can make more than 100mil.

My manufacture empire is stagnating, but rigs and Vexors are selling once a day or two, steady income, i plan to get into large rigs manufacturing as much of Providence guys are using battleships i guess these will sell much faster.

That's all for today, more adventures to come.

Star Talk

In my tiny room, i often think about all kind of stuff, from a great game that i want to make, to New Eden. Most often i am thinking about space, physics and math. Why? I don't know, i love math, i love how all things have sense, how you can do anything with math, you can built life, you can create games, you can do what you want.

Even if i am very interested in writing, my heart belongs to math. National Geographic's series about physics and universe fascinated me from beginning, but "Cosmos a Spacetime Odyssey " and "StarTalk" were astonishing.

What i want to say with these? Just that if WE would stop fighting each other and invest in science, we could make New Eden a reality, but that's almost impossible right now. They will remain with money, we will remain with beuty of math, physics, and more important, imagination.

I really recommend those two shows above, they are mind blowing and fascinating, they make you dream...

InfoBlog No.2

Second episode of "InfoBlog" is here with some news about the blog (of course!), here we go:

New design - i applied for being an official EVE fansite, and using the prerequisite that CCP provides for fansites i changed the look of the blog, hope you like it (any suggestions are welcome). Link for the prerequisite is here:
Fansite Kit - it's a bit (more) outdated but has some very good images to work with (i used Photoshop CS6 for the header), i recommend if you can't get high quality images from elsewhere.

More links - as i wrote on the new page of this blog, i want to link as many EVE content i can, but not so they can link to me, no, just for spreading EVE comunity.

Contest ahead - first i need to PLEX so i can be sure that i can give the prizes. The contest will be a about EVE (probably write a little story), still not very sure about it, more to come.

That's all for now, just a short update on blog status, hope we can become an official fansite, it means a lot for me.

Trading in EVE

History - i wanted to be a trader...

Last time i spoke about manufacturing, anybody can do it, but not anybody can make profit out of it. Same with trading and anything else in EVE. I did like a month or two of trading to be able to comeback on my main (inspired to trade by croda).

I've started like him, with a 8mil capital from career missions (sold all the stuff i got) and searched for a good margin margin items that i could buy in Jita and sell in Dodixie, i bought mostly blueprints and ammo and i hauled with a strip fitted Catalyst.

I could make somewhere between 10% and 50% profit for every item but ammo and if i would been less lazy i could make enough to plex two accounts per month. Sadly some items were so low in trafic so most of my ISK was stuck for more than a few days (this happened with some blueprints, t3 subsystems and some rigs).

Present - you want to be a trader?

Well, i must say that i am not a trader, i didn't get rich by trading so i can say i am the best one to give advices. Best tip that i can give is to check out croda and gevlon's blogs: marketsforISK and Greedy Goblin . They thrived in New Eden by trading and both have some good tips to use when trading, but most times trading means searching for an item that has a good profit margin (between 10% to 1000%), sells at a medium pace (less trafic = more profit but also more time for selling) and don't needs much order babysitting (of course, you can let your orders in the same level for more time but if you have competition, you won't sell your item too soon).

With minimum skills and time you can make a really good profit by doing almost nothing, this is mostly used by alts to fund the fun on main account and if you don't love number and economics i suggest to don't follow this career on a main.

Future - i want to be a trader!

I plan to open an alt character on my main account and use him as ISK source, but i am not sure at this moment if i want that number roller coster again, i will see...
But if you like numbers, and want to make easy ISK, then trading is for you, as the skills aren't so important, you need them when you have high capital.

That's it for today, what career would you like to hear abou next time?

Smashing rats for fun

I said in early post that i hate to do missions, or even rat for a longer time than 10 minutes, because i am bored to look at some lasers or missiles that shoots some (mostly) static target and to get like 1mil ISK.

As i moved my most business to null sec, i started to rat in a Vexor Navy Issue with a t1/meta 4 fit with a mate. It was fun, i did it like 3 times until now and i got like 30mil per hour + loot price that i will get at the end of the month, a good income if you have free time.

We run the sites in about 10 minutes if we are just two (a battleship and my VNY) and way less if we are three or more, so more guys, faster clean, more ISK. I can tank pretty OK any anomalies (we don't run combat sites, not me at least) in Providence with the fit on the bottom of the post, sadly i can't go in expeditions as they have way more damage.

I will do more ratting when i will have free time and nothing to do but for the the early future (is that even an expression?) i will try to explore so i can fund my PLEX (and maybe fill a bit of my goal, i don't think i can do it in 2 days as i am lazy as fuck).

Here's the fit i use, cost me like 90mil but in Jita you can get it cheaper, also it's really easy to fly by a noob (as me) in PVE. You can use all modules but repairer and afterburner without running off capacitor and the sentryes can bring a good junk of damage to any rats in anomalies. This fit is meant to be used with a friend that has at least a battleship and can tank most of the damage, just don't try to rat in this in null without a friend, you can try in hisec and maybe in null with t2 things but i recommend getting a battleship as fast as posible (i will do it too). The fit :

[Vexor Navy Issue, 300DronesInc]
Prototype Armor Thermic Hardener I
Prototype Armor Thermic Hardener I
Prototype Armor EM Hardener I
Medium 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I

PS: Switch the hardeners and the drones for optimal damage/tank for you rats. Have fun!

What I've learned from EVE

As many games, EVE learn you something, a bit more than other I'd say. In almost 5 months in New Eden and i want to share with you what I've learnt in this time. Firstly i need to say that for many of you, 5 months are literally nothing but for me it was a very interesting period. So, what I've learnt from EVE:

Time is gold - you need to have patience for things to work, you can't and you shouldn't hurry if you don't know what to do. You can speed up the skill queue in EVE only by remapping or by purchasing implants, but you should know what are you doing before spending hundreds of millions on implants or before you throw away the remaps.
Use your brain - you have one, you should use it. Scams, gate camps, pursuits, reverse psychology
and a lot more. All of these are in EVE and if you will won't think twice before you do anything then your wallet and clone may be in danger.
Trust no one - if you don't know him in real life (and even then) just try to be sceptical to everyone and everything in New Eden. After some months/years with some players you could trust them but remember, there were some big thief in EVE that took years of trust. This works in real life too.
Best ship is friendship - this may interfere with the above, as i said to trust nobody in this game, but you can't be alone in this game (nor in life), solo you are a free target, but in a corporation and in an alliance, you can do big things. Example: past days, my alliance, Tide Elemental did a pretty large fleet (large for me) of more than 450 ships in a try to take a SBU. I tried to fly with them but sadly, i couldn't stay until the action begun, but i watched Daopa's stream (link on "Link list" > right part of the blog) and it was a pretty big fight. Next day i've found that we got the SBU. Starcade was my second corporation and i stayed there just because i had guys (and Kiarla) to talk with, they were helpful and accepted a noob. You need those type of guys in EVE and life.
You can succeed in anything - you just need to have goals and stick to them.

That's most that i learnt from playing EVE, of course i didn't write about small things, it would be worthless.
More next time!

InfoBlog no.1

"InfoBlog" will be a series in which i will write about blog status, what i plan to write, what's going on with post and that sort of things. So, first episode is here:

Firstly i want to thank you all for your support, even if it's a quiet one, as we hit almost 300 views in less than 3 weeks (not a huge number but for me it is) and for this you have my sincere thanks. I don't aim for millions of viewers, no, i aim for loyal readers, even if they are just a few.

Second thing is the pace of this blog: for most of the time i had like 2 posts per day, mainly because i had time to write and i had about what to write. Now i have less time to be at PC as i will have some important exams this summer so less posts per day as i won't do very much on EVE. On weekends i will try to write more, aiming for 2 - 3 post per day (depends on RL program).

Third thing is the account status: currently i am playing only on Lupan Anton which has  510mil liquid ISK , 163mil in sell orders (null only at this moment) and with around another 100-200mil in assets all over the New Eden (Dodixie/Providence mainly) and i have like 11 days to PLEX, i am pretty sure i can do this easily (i was lazy and didn't explore much in past 3 days so almost no income). I will probably going to pay for a 3 month subscription (if i get my exams ^^) because i want to have a relaxed summer before i am going to high-school, we will see thought...

The fourth and the last thing i  want to speak about is the quality of this blog: as many (i guess all) of you have seen, i am far from being a perfect English writer (speaker) and i am sorry for this as i know this may affect the quality of the blog. Also i am not very skilled in Photoshop or CSS and the blog's template may not be one of the best out there, i will try to improve it if necessary. From a 1-10 scale I'd give my blog a 5.

More on next InfoBlog, fly safe!

Big quest for nothing V5.0

I haven't write anything in a while mainly because i didn't had about what to write or didn't had time for it. Meanwhile i manage to don't die in an exploration run and bring to hisec almost 350mil (my goal is 2b in 18d). So here are the news:

The Curse is gone

Or at least this is what i think. I had luck, i didn't died, i sold the stuff, i am happy! Long story short: after DT, Providence was full of sites, mostly data, but the few relic ones gave me the most ISK - somewhere between 120-200mil.

Not much to say as it was a pretty quiet run with no gate camps involved.

What I did with money?
Majority stay in wallet for the next PLEX buy but i still had enough to buy a Vexor Navy Issue for ratting with my alliance (~100mil), with 10mil i bought and fitted an Incursus for some frigate PVP (shame fight for me as i was killed by a Condor with a 1mil fit) and i had to rebuy an exploration frigate as in a second attempt to run in Catch those days i got caught by a Vagabond in a bubble (1 alpha and i was dust) so another ~10mil.

Meanwhile i almost finished the order for my corp leader and my rigs are selling at a good pace in Providence so i am happy.

GOAL OF 2B IN 18D STATUS: 350 - 100 - 10 - 10 - other minor buys = ~200mil. (14d left as i had to be more offline for 2 days)
